The Windup Girl

The Windup Girl - Paolo Bacigalupi After I finished this book, I was all hopped up and was having a hard time concentrating on my work. The Windup Girl is one of those books that I will think about after finishing, think about the characters and wonder what else has happened to them. When I started this book, it took me awhile to really become absorbed in it. The political and social culture was complex and intriguing, which meant I was about 100 pages in before I really grasped the culture very well. I'm not sure if this was the book's fault or if I'm just a bit slow. I'm inclined to think the latter. Overall, very good story, excellent characters and dearly hoping for a follow up!
