The Perks of Being a Wallflower - Stephen Chbosky This book did not hold well for my second reading of it. I remember really liking it the first time I read it nearly 10 years ago. This time, however, I couldn't get past how awkward and weird Charlie is. I agree with many other reviews on here that say Charlie acted more like a 7 year old than a teenager. My thoughts of "what is wrong with this boy?" kept distracting me from the story. However, there are some beautiful thoughts mixed in with all the strangeness that saved it from a two-star rating. Even so, I'd still point people in the direction of the film rather than the book.
